Gift of the gab – a virtue
Malherbe Rigg & Ranwell attorneys (MRR) in Beyers Park, recently paid tribute to 20 high- and primary school pupils, from various schools, who received the 2010 MRR Gift of the Gab award.
The firm, which believes that the gift of being able to clearly convey ones message, to have the ability to captivate an audience and have them listen to your spoken words is a gift that every young South African poses and should therefore exercise, has aligned itself with 20 schools in both Boksbrug and Benoni and sponsors a yearly prize to each school’s top debating team member.
Recipients of this award recently visited the firm’s offices to enjoy a lavish cocktail party in their honour.
“MRR is a firm built on its founders’ as well as its current team’s gift of the gab,” said Jeff Matthee, director.
“So it is therefore only obvious that we would make it our mission to recognise young talent in this regard and to honour youths for their raw talent, which can silence an audience and have them listen, not only hear, what you may think or feel about a certain topic or issue.
“We applaud you for having your voices heard.”
